Eric was born and raised in Clinton, graduated from Clinton High School and attended college at Missouri State University. Eric started mowing yards when he was 13 for pocket money. He was studying agronomy and mowing 35 yards while in college. He began Golden Valley Lawn Service in 1993 hiring some of his friends to help. Nowadays, he has 3 full-time employees and seasonal workers. He has grown his business with a mission to provide a professional service while maintaining a friendship with his customers.
Eric said, “We want to go beyond providing lawn service. We want to make sure our customers are taken care of even if it means doing something extra for them a lawn service wouldn’t normally do.” Eric currently serves as the managing member, bids all the work, oversee accounts, schedules the crews, and is the landscape designer. He oversees all landscaping projects whether it means renovating an older landscape or designing completely new.
Eric uses his website, www.goldenvalleylawn.com, to help customers choose a variety of plants or designs. He will then incorporate them in the landscape design. Other services offered include irrigation systems, brick paver installation, shrub and tree pruning, snow removal, holiday lighting, aeration and turf care. You will often see GV Lawn Service crews on the job installing plants, mowing, edging and fertilizing lawns. They do commercial as well as residential lawns, vacant lots, multifamily housing and even cemeteries.
Eric is cyclist in his spare time. If he is not racing, he spends time biking on the weekends to stay in shape. He is on a team out of St. Louis and last year traveled to six different states to race during racing season.
